About Annie's Cottage

The farm is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of the North Yorkshire moors in Ryedale with many farmyard animals including goats (with kids), poultry, pet Dexter cattle (a bull who thinks he's a horse!),coloured horses, Haflinger & Appaloosa horses, Coco the donkey Jimmie the pot-bellied pig, friendly farm cats and dogs, ewes and lambs.Man of our animals have been resuced and guests are welcome to interact with them.
Pets are welcome and we have a farm walk with abundant wildlife including foxes hares, deer, curlews, partridge, herons, skylarks and pheasants and a chance to see green energy being grown - our short coppice willows.
Some of the buildings on the farm are up to 300 years old and swallows return to them each year flying in and out of the buildings all summer long. The farm has an environmental friendly policy to encourage wildlife and our animals graze on land that is free from chemical sprays and fertilisers. Our newly installed wind turbine provides most of our electricity exporting the surplus to the grid.
This is a well designed pine lodge sleeping 4 people with two bedrooms, one double and one twin, making it ideal for families or for two couples sharing. It is situated in a secluded position with a grassed area in front of the veranda.
The central living space incorporates kitchen (including microwave, fridge, washer/dryer and full sized cooker ), dining area with pine table and chairs and large living area equipped with two comfortable sofas; a remote control LCD TV with free view and DVD player, wood burning stove and french doors opening onto the veranda where you can see beautiful sunsets..
Annies cottage has a double bedroom with ensuite shower room and a twin bedroom. The house bathroom has a bath with shower over.
The lodge is double glazed throughout and has central heating supplied by our biomass boiler burning our own short coppice willow
Outside there is a large veranda with garden furniture and plenty of off road parking.
Prices include electricity & linen (including towels) heating and wi-fi.
Well-behaved pets welcome.
The area is a walker’s paradise and has many abbeys, castles, museums and country pubs serving high quality food. Scarborough, Whitby and the historic city of York are within easy reach.
