The Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park in Grewelthorpe is a private garden owned by Peter and Caroline Roberts. In 2005 they decided to welcome the public to enjoy its beauty for an eight week period each spring and a fortnight in the Autumn. Since then the opening period of the Gardens has extended to twelve weeks in the Spring and four weeks in the Autumn. The prolongation of the season made possible by the extensive planting program undertaken over the last 13 years; culminating in what is widely classed as the largest collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias in the North, with almost 20,000 plants.
