Exploring the most Picturesque & Historic parts of England
This is a fire place but was originally the main entrance into the Castle from the entrance hall at the top of the flight of steps into the Castle. The Castle was built by William d'Albini ( an ancestor of my wife and daughter and he was married to Adeliza of Louvain- King Henry 1st's second wife ). Now this shot I have taken a similar one but this one you see here was taken by my wife Linda and we have been unable to understand what we can see in the bottom of the reflections of the left hand window. Firstly there is what seems to be a womans face where the window frame main sections cross but it seems the face would have to be on the outside of the window ! Even more worryingly there is another image in the very bottom left of this window which looks like a semi mummified face with teeth in tact- it needs magnification but does go off a bit as you enlarge. It has been looked at by someone who knows Castle Rising Castle exceedingly well and who is very much involved with the paranormal, he has not been able to explain it and he says this picture and what it holds still freaks him out big time. Anyone else able to explain it?

I can't explain Vince, but I can see exactly what you're seeing. This is very weird.
Hi Vince I have just dowsed on the subject of this picture and it is defiantly spirit world the vision is of a man in his previous life carrying his mortified skeleton. He is a trapped soul and wants to pass over into the spirit world also he was a member of the family that used to live there. This is just a starter into what could be a very interesting case and may explain much more of the past and possibly the present. But I will need more time to dowse the on the subject.
Maybe someone was just looking through the window at the time it was taken or could it be the reflection of your wife taking the picture ?
A 'spooky' picture open to interpretation and misinterpretation
Spooky pic, very good
Interesting picture .
In reply to Patrick, the window is far to high for anyone to be looking through and on the day my wife was wearing a pink scarf over her head.
This is so intriguing Vince I knew nothing about the history surrounding this castle I have had just finished reading the details surrounding the murder by Queen Isabella of her husband and the execution of her lover Mortimer I knew I was on the right track as either one of the two or collectively could be the lost soul or souls wanting to pass over, as their souls would not have had chance to pass over due to the manner of their deaths that took place I will have to dowse further on the subject.
My dowsing informs me the clear image is that of Edward II and the image on his back is Mortimer both require release to pass over due to the manner of their deaths. If this is not carried out they will continue to haunt the area. Apologies in advance Vince if my comments attract unfavourable response on your picture submission.
Hi Neil, I was only trying to find another explanation to what can be seen in Vince's picture. If you use this link and scroll down you will see what looks like a face at the window, do you think it could be the same ? http://www.spoilheap.co.uk/beanyZ/crinside.htm
Sorry Vince, like you I can't explain it.
Hi Patrick this picture shows the form directly in the window and is different to the one submitted by Vince I have more work to carry out on this subject, this is possibly a commercial photograph so it may have been super imposed its hard to tell due to the focal length. But after reading the brief history there could well be 3 spirits floating about the Castle I will have to dowse further but I knew when I first dowsed that I was on the right track.
If there is any way you could email me the original, I would be most happy to take a look
