The Marquis of Granby, Wellingore, Lincolnshire
There are many pubs bearing the name the Marquis of Granby for good reason. John Manners, Marquis of Granby was a general in the 18th century. He showed a great concern for the welfare of his men upon their retirement and provided funds for many to establish taverns, which were subsequently named after him.
