About Eagle

The village of Eagle is situated in spacious countryside a short distance away from the historic city of Lincoln. It is an ancient landscape as is borne out by its inclusion in the Doomsday Book of 1086.

Eagle is a pleasant place with leafy lanes around which there are dotted several notable properties and picturesque cottages. It has a pub from the 18th century called "The Struggler" and an attractive village playing field which provides a monthly venue for a lively car boot sale where visitors can be sure of picking up a bargain.

The village is close to the meandering waters of the River Trent where you will find plenty of riverside footpaths. It is pleasant to wander along these, especially for the river wildlife of graceful swans, ducks and fish.

The village is surrounded by rolling fields and wooded areas, giving cover for squirrel, badger, fox and a host of other creatures of the wild. It is also an excellent region for bird watching.

Eagle is sandwiched between North Scarle and Eagle Moor. North Hykeham is easily accessible, as is Newark-on-Trent with its local museum covering the history and heritage of the region. The Nottinghamshire Aircraft Museum is nearby, and there are many other places of interest in the area that make for a good family day out.
