Whitstable Oyster Festival

About Whitstable Oyster Festival

The official opening of the Festival on Saturday 22nd July is the historic Landing of the Oysters which will take place on East Quay Beach followed by a Seafront Procession along the beach to Tankerton Slopes, whilst the much loved Grotters will offer a family festival finale on Horsebridge Beach on Monday 24th July. Between these two events there is something for everyone at WOF 2017 from taking the plunge at the Oyster Eating Competition, sitting back enjoying the music on the Beach Stage, soaking up the sun overlooking Whitstable Bay, eating fit to burst at the walking banquet that is the Oyster Food Fair or enjoying the fringe events hosted by our friends and neighbours in the town. For children we are looking forward to hosting the favourite events of the last 4 years from Crabbing, Pirate Treasure Hunt, Beach Hut Tales, Chalky Chalks and Pirate Pottery. Before the Grotters, bring the kids up to Tankerton Slopes one last time for The Whitstabubble Picnic and Let’s Fly a Kite – free activities for all the family.
Please always contact the event organiser before travelling in case of late changes. See Booking Info above.
