Pictures of Sissinghurst![]() Picture by Graham John Willetts © Submitted by Graham John Willetts(7th May 2010)Passion Flower This is a variety of Passion flower and as far as I remember it the message is: The ten outer petals stand for the Apostles (except Judas and Peter, who both distanced themselves from Christ prior to the crucifixion). The unique corona [blue/purple] represented the crown of thorns. The five anthers [green] were the five wounds on Christ’s body, and the three stigmas [brown] the nails. The leaves were the spear that pierced His side, and the tendrils the scourges that flayed His flesh.
