Waterlooville, Batlte of Waterloo, Commemorative plaque
To Commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. Wellington's soldiers stopped as they passed through the village on their return from the battle. The village was renamed Waterloo in their honour. The "ville" was added later to prevent confusion
