About Butser Ancient Farm
For anyone wishing to learn more about the everyday life of the Celts and the Romans, how they lived in their thatched round-houses, of pre-historic Britain, the geology of the landscape as lived in by early man, could do no better than visit Butser Ancient Farm.
The site of the farm occupies a lovely tranquil setting at Bascomb Copse, it is a pleasant replica of how things looked in the Iron-Age 300BC. Perhaps you could say it is more a museum, than farm, but it has buildings, animals, crops, tools and implements, all of the period.
Set in the great outdoors, there is plenty for everyone to do and see, the whole family can become involved and everyone will leave having enjoyed a rich, rewarding experience.
