About Hampshire

The County of Hampshire lies in the South of England and offers an enchanting blend of both coast and countryside. It is home to the 'New Forest', which covers some 145 square miles, making it Englands largest, intact ancient woodlands thus earning the area national and international status. Winchester is home to one of England's largest cathedrals, 'Winchester Cathedral' has its origins in the 7th century, when
a Christian Church was first built on the site. Hampshire has many notable attractions including, 'Mottisfont Abbey Gardens', 'Broadlands' a magnificent 18th century house in a superb setting on the banks of the River Test and Famous for being the home of Lord Mountbatten, and 'Highclere Castle' home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon and probably the finest Victorian home still in existence.
