There are many well defined Forest Walks which pass through a variety of woodland, including samples of mature beech, oak and sweet chestnut, as well as some ancient holly trees. A variety of tracks through the forest pass areas untouched by man. In contrast there are railway and industrial workings which have long ago been abandoned and which nature had reclaimed.
