Description

Queen Victoria Statue Hull

The statue of Queen Victoria in the middle of Queen Victoria Square in the centre of Hull with the City Hall behind. The inscription on the plinth reads 'Erected by public subscription to commemorate the reign of Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Victoria. Born 1819 Ascended to the throne 1837 Died 1901' Amazingly underneath the statue is the city centre public conveniences!!!

What a place to put the loos, I know a chamber pot is called a " Guzunda " but that is pushing it a bit, and those garish banners do seem to lower the tone as well. What are they like in Hull?
