About Mudeford

Picturesque holiday resort nestling at the point where the River Avon rushes into the sea at Christchurch Bay. The Avon beach has fine golden sand, from Mudeford Quayside there are pleasant views, and more extensive sea views can be enjoyed from along the fine harbour stretch. During the summertime a ferry from Mudeford Quay takes visitors to the beach at Mudeford Sandbank. This is a lovely unspoilt area between Hengistbury Head and Christchurch Harbour. Here, the beach is dotted with quaint beach huts, and provides an ideal place for relaxing, and watching luxurious yachts and gaily painted fishing boats sail by.

Mudeford Quay is the home of Highcliffe Sailing Club. From the Quayside you can make your choice of sea-fishing trips or a pleasure trip to see the beautiful scenery of Poole Bay or the distant Isle of Wight. Enjoyable activities in the area include; windsurfing, sailing, boating, fishing, water-skiing, and walking either along the sands, or inland to explore the lovely Avon estuary.

Holiday accommodation to suit all tastes can be found in the area. There is a good assortment of shops, together with pleasant inns and restaurants.

Highcliffe Castle, an exceptional visitor attraction is within easy reach, and a short drive away you can meet the friendly ponies of the New Forest.
