The outstanding Devon coastline is close by with the sandy Wonwell beach a mere 1.5 miles away.
But if you want to stay at home and relax the garden has space for games and a barbecue as well as the swimming pool
For walkers the choice is vast. Take a walk from the house by lanes and fields to the beach or to Modbury The SW coastal path is nearby and further afield there is walking on Dartmoor There are plenty of places to visit like Salcombe or Dartmouth. It is easy to do a round trip by steam train from Paignton to Dartmouth, a ferry from Dartmouth to Totnes along the delightfull river Dart and then a bus back to Paignton.Obviously you can start at any of these places and one ticket covers the whole journey There are plenty of National Trust properties in the area including Saltram House in Plymouth and Sir Francis Drake's house at Buckland Abbey. Guests often make a day out visiting the Eden Project in Cornwall
Eating out on holiday is one of the treats and there are plenty of places to choose. There are three pubs in Modbury as well as a Bistro, a Chinese Takeaway and an Indian Resturant. In Kingston the Dolphin is popular and there are many more which we can discuss with you at the time Organised activities in the area include sailing at Salcombe, surfing at Bantham and canoeing on the Dart It is possible to go deep sea fishing from Salcombe and Plymouth or if you prefer you can fish from a rock pretty well anywhere round the coast. The only other property on the site is occupied by the owners who will respect your privacy completely or will be happy to advise as to walks, trips or eating out. The only point of contact is the swimming pool which is shared with the tenants and the owners.
