Pictures of A La Ronde
About A La Ronde
This fascinating 16 sided house is a relic from 1796. It was built for two spinster cousins Jane and Mary Parminter and was to be their home following their Grand Tour of Europe.
The house holds many treasures, most of which where collected by the cousins during their travels across the Continent. These are beautifully displayed, looking very much as they would have done in the 18th century.
A picturesque shell encrusted gallery has always been a favourite at A La Ronde, but this is now so fragile that visitors are only able to view it on closed circuit television.
The house is in the care of the National Trust and is open to the public between April and October.
