About Little Nod
Little Nod is situated on a small, secluded site of 12 bungalows behind a thatched pub, The Old Smithy Inn has a lovely beer garden to enjoy on a sunny summer's day and an inglenook fireplace with open log fire for winter evenings. It serves excellent food, real ales and good wines. It also has free wifi if you need to use your laptop. There is a small working pottery nearby and often free range eggs available at the farm opposite. Just off the A39, on the road into the village, there is a small shop/PO which offers a pre-ordering delivery service for your arrival. There are other pubs and shops in nearby villages and Bude is about 20 minutes away by car.
The beach is 1½ miles away and has a small free car park, it can also be accessed on foot, down the road, through a wooded valley. There is a stretch of sand at low tide with pebbles, rock pools and a cascade (small waterfall). Welcombe is a village on the North Devon/Cornwall border, popular with walkers, surfers and families. Visitors return year after year to enjoy the peace, quiet and natural beauty of the area. There is a large nature reserve nearby, as well as the coast path. The wooded coombes and sunken leafy lanes are crowded with primroses in Spring.
Local attractions include Marsland Nature Reserve, SW Coast Path, Tintagel, Boscastle, The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, The Gnome Reserve, Docton Mill Gardens, Hartland Abbey, Hartland Quay, Dartington Crystal and Rosemoor RHS Gardens. Dartmoor, Bodmin and Exmoor are all easily reached for a day, as are Eden and Heligan.
This property offers 1 double bedroom, 1 bunk bedroom, bathroom with shower over the bath, wash basin and toilet, lounge/dining room/kitchen, shared garden for residents only, patio with garden furniture. There is a £1 coin meter for electricity. However the electric storage heater supply bypasses this, so you don't pay for it.
