Description

Cairn, Swarkestone bridge, Derbyshire

The inscription on the monument reads:- This Cairn marks the farthest point south reached by the Jacobite Army of Prince Charles Edward Stuart on 4th December 1745. It was erected by the Charles Edward Society and Marston's Brewery on the 250th anniversary.
