About Carsington Water

Carsington Water is situated close to the village of Carsington in the lower regions of Derbyshire. Carsington Water is a large reservoir with facilities for watersports, including sailing, and has an abundance of wildlife inhabiting its reeded banks.

There is a visitor centre for information and the hire of cycles, pleasant picnic spots and lovely waterside walks.

The village can be found close to Wirksworth, it is within easy driving distance of Matlock, thus offering easy access to the pleasures of the Peak District National Park.
