About Crummock Water
A footpath from Crummock Water leads to Scale Force, a rushing torrent of a waterfall that tumbles over silvery boulders in a mighty crescendo to drop 170 feet, it is Lakeland tallest waterfall. The lake is fed by numerous streams including the beck from Scale Force. This is one of Lakeland's most tranquil spots, for centuries Crummock Water has been the haunt of poet's and artists. Today, its hauntingly beautiful scenery is attractive to walkers, and for visitors who wish to enjoy a gentle trip on the water there is a nearby centre for the hire of rowing boats.
