About Cowshill
Lonely, picturesque area lying in the midst of some of England's most breathtaking scenery. It is a few miles away from Rookhope Burn, with Cow Reservoir lying to the south in the beautiful Teesdale Valley.
A feature of the region is Killhope Lead Mining Museum, found on a fully restored lead mining site. Here visitors can experience the vast underground workings, see a mineral exhibition, buy gifts from a shop and enjoy tea in the on-site cafe. It is a wonderful experience, one the whole family can enjoy.
Cowshill can be found between Stanhope and the wonderful old market town of Alston.
