About Tintagel Old Post Office
This delightful stone building with its bright red pillar-box fitted into its ancient wall is found in the coastal village of Tintagel, legendry seat of King Arthur. The village occupies an outstanding ruin strewn headland location, it is usually full of tourists all keen to follow in the wonderfully romantic footsteps of Arthur and his Knights.
The Old Post Office is maintained and cared for by The National Trust, it originated in the 14th century when it was thought to be a minor manor house, and is one of just a handful of humble ancient properties owned by the Trust and opened for public view.
Whilst visiting take time to visit the Trust's other property King Arthur's Hall and the dramatic caverns to the north side of Tintagel Cove. Superb coastal walks give magical sea and coastal views.
