About Mawnan Smith

This is a picturesque place set a short distance from a little creek leading to the Helford River. It offers a small selection of shops including Post Office, butchers shop, licensed restaurant and the Red Lion public house.

The village is about two miles from the Helford estuary, this offers scope for sailing, watching the wildlife of the area, and lovely riverside and country walks.

From Mawnan Smith a lane leads to the tiny hamlet of Mawnan, where there is a 13th century church with a spire that has provided centuries of sailors with a coastal landmark.
