About Avalon

'Unique property in a fab location, perfect for getting away from it all. Gardens great. Loved the walk down to the cove. Views are fantastic. Thanks for a lovely week'
Leave the daily grind behind and escape to Lamorna for a well deserved break at this comfortable holiday retreat. Seek out the silence, tranquillity and spectacular views which this noted Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so loved by artists, has to offer. After breakfast on Avalon’s suntrap terrace, read a book at one of the seating areas within Avalon’s unique gardens – and simply relax. Go kayaking, fishing, or diving from the cove, which has its own cafe facilities. . Explore the many local footpaths, including the South West Coast Path, taking in the flora, fauna, birdlife, and fresh air, on the way. Those needing to venture further afield within this very special part of Cornwall will find that Avalon makes an ideal base for visiting beaches at St Ives, Sennen, Porthcurno, the Minack Theatre, Mousehole, St Michael’s Mount, Lands End, etc.
Set in its own grounds just a short walk from the middle of Lamorna, Avalon enjoys an elevated but sheltered position, affording far reaching valley and coastal views beyond Lamorna Cove to The Lizard.
This comfortable and well-equipped detached holiday home benefits from full central heating and double glazing. The layout is “reverse level” to maximise views. Upstairs comprises a spacious 25’ Living Room with triple aspect windows. The Living Room is equipped with comfortable sofas, TV, DVD, WIFI, CD / radio, and incorporates a separate Dining Area. Adjacent to the Dining Area is the Kitchen, which also offers commanding views. Beyond the Kitchen is an enclosed Roof Terrace - ideal for breakfasts (weather permitting!)
The lower floor has three bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes. The bathroom has an electric shower as well as a bath and washbasin. Separate WC.
Avalon’s extensive gardens, which contain a wide range of established plants and shrubs, including spring-flowering camellias, were fashioned to capitalise on the slopes and rich features of a former Cornish granite quarry. They contain a variety of terraces and secluded seating areas, and the gardens have been known to take on the role of children’s adventure playground (although care must be taken owing to the challenging terrain!) There is no need to clamber about though, if all you want to do is sunbathe and enjoy a BBQ at the picnic bench in the secluded lower garden area by the Breakfast Terrace.
Large parking space in front, small garage at the side.
Regret no pets.
