About Crantock

Situated on the River Gannel's estuary, Crantock beach offers low-tide sand backed by a broad expanse of dunes and low cliffs. It gains shelter from Pentire Point West which makes it idyllic for sunbathers. Good breaks off the rocks at the south end of the beach offer ideal conditions for surfers, it is also a much quieter beach than its near neighbour Newquay.

The ancient Norman parish church of St. Carantoc was restored during the 20th-century. The story of the saint is told in fine stained glass windows, and there is much good woodcarving to be seen.

Crantock village is a haven of picturesque cottages, it has a couple of pubs, an art shop which also sells local crafts, tea-rooms and a restaurant. Visitors can enjoy boat trips, river trips and fishing.

This is a lovely tranquil place with magnificent sea and coastal views, it is an ideal centre for a romantic weekend, or an enjoyable family holiday.
