About Constantine Bay
Constantine Bay lies south of Padstow, and just a short distance from Trevose Head.
Here visitors will find a marvellous surf washed sandy beach backed by dunes where fences and marram grass has been planted to prevent erosion. Contrary currents make the sea somewhat turbulent at times, especially around the low headlands and rocky islands heading out into the ocean. However, during the season the beach is patrolled by lifeguards.
Booby's Bay is adjacent, rocky reefs make this particularly hazardous in swollen, gale lashed waters, but once the sea calms and recedes, it leaves behind dozens of rock pools, providing a happy hunting ground for small crab and other little creatures of the deep.
Constantine beach is popular with surfers, there is a surf shop and a local stores. However, parking is limited, but for the determined there is additional parking half a mile further along the road.
The North Cornwall Coast path passes the bay, giving spectacular sea and coastal views, this is backed by a hinterland of lovely Cornish villages, where you can often come across the unexpected, or a cosy tea-room in which to enjoy a delicious Cornish cream tea.
