About Delamere Forest Park
Green lungs do not come more beautiful than the densely tree populated Delamere Forest Park found in a haven of countryside, near Tarporely in Cheshire.
Here, you can escape, immersing yourself in a sea of lofty pines whilst listening to the sound of silence, or enjoying early morning birdsong, together with the rustle of tiny wildlife species a they scurry around in search of food. In the forest you will be certain to catch sight of some of natures loveliest Butterflies, including the Small Tortoiseshell, and several Dragonfly. It is great for birdwatching, the earlier you arrive, the more birds you are likely to see and hear.
The forest is excellent for families, there are waymarked walks along dry sandstone paths and in addition, the new planting of Old Pale allows you to arrive at a completely new destination from which there are breath-taking views of Liverpool's famous skyline of towering churches and harbour-side buildings.
A tea-room provides a place to chat to fellow walkers while enjoying a welcome cup of tea.
Delamere Forest Park is operated by the Forestry Commission.
