Description

Blagrave Arms Pub, Reading

A dusk shot of a traditional town centre pub. The name Blagrave is associated with John Blagrave (1561 - 1611), an English mathematician who lived near Reading, and whose monument is in the church of St. Laurence nearby.

What an unusual name. Some of those people look as though they could do with slowing down a bit.

I really like the timing of your shot Edward. Unlike the people in the picture I doubt if I would have walked past this rather fine looking watering hole, especially if Mrs B spotted the half price Champagne on offer. It is also good to know that John Blagrave's name still counts for something in Reading.

Yes a superb image....... It would be interesting to know the history of the building. Maybe it was a Bank in a previous life ?
